Delicious Cafe @ Midvalley

If you're following me in twitter, you would have know that the BFF came over to Msia and stayed over for a few days before flying back to NZ somewhere in mid February. I was super excited even since last year when she planned for this trip. After a year plus of long distance (since Dec 2010 to be exact), I FINALLY get to meet her again and there's so much shiz to catch up, 5 days are not even enough since I have classes from 9am-5pm almost everyday (T ^ T)

After church on Sunday, I brought her to Midvalley to have lunch and since I was craving carbonara so you would obviously know where we ended up for lunch from my post title -_- This was not my first time here, so as usual the service was slow.. good thing that they have wiFi to keep people like me occupied instead of complaining while waiting for the food to arrive.
Tikka Mascarpone Linguini with grilled Chicken Tikka & Coriander RM25.90

The grilled chicken was real tender and juicy, tastes better than it looks! As for the linguini, it tasted like spaghetti with curry, tikka is a type of Indian food. It's something new and special to try but I wouldn't go for it next time. This dish is definitely worth the price for the generous amount chicken.
Carbonara Spaghettini with Oyster Mushrooms, Beef Bacon, Oregano & Cream RM25.90
My plate of spaghettini dipping in the thick creamy carbonara but the gravy was not hot enough to melt all those shredded Parmesan cheese. The gravy was a tad salty and after a few mouth of it, I just have to exchange my dish with Cathy.

Red Velvet Cupcake with Cream Cheese Frosting RM6.90
As well all know, dessert should come after the main course. Is it even necessary to tell the waiter to put it that way? Cause I order it together with the main course so they actually serve it beforehand -_-
Waiter, Y U NO common sense? ლ(ಠ益ಠლ)

The cupcake was too dried and the cocoa flavour wasn't rich enough to my liking. I only liked the cream cheese frosting. I think I can bake even better one than them. Sigh I should have order their Blackberry Apple Crumble with Vanilla Ice Cream.

Unhappy with the quality of food and service. Screw my craving for Carbonara! Oh, they don't serve warm water/ice water here so we ordered Ice Peach Tea instead, which tasted weird to me but Cathy liked it, oh well.
Before I forgot, introducing Cathy! A good friend of 14 years, since we were like what? Seven? :D

I'm singing my blue ♫

Cause I'm having Monday blues..NOT! Just cause it rhymes (:

Not really a big fan of K-pop but I do like some of Big Bang's songs. I can't deny the fact that there will be a slight chance of being influence sometimes, since so many of my friends are avid fan of K-pop :P Couldn't be bothered when this song was first released last week but I was hooked when I heard one of my classmates played it in class. Even till now, it's still stuck in my head #currentaddiction Who else is having the #bigbangbluefever? ヽ( ^ 。^ )丿
파란 눈물에 파란 슬픔에 길들여져

Get the romanization with english translation lyrics here and sing out all our blues :P And again, February is coming to an end.. Can I just skip March and fast forward to April instead? ( ̄ー ̄)

Of baking and cooking

Back to the last day of January, we came up with this random plan to bake and have a sleepover at Sie Yii's since it was a public holiday the next day, Federal Territory Day to be exact. Since it was still CNY that time, we decided to bake chocolate chip cookies this time round :D It's really awesome how my bunch of friends actually enjoy baking like I do and I think it's somehow a fun activity to have once in a while for our bonding sesh <( ̄︶ ̄)>

Alright back to the cookies, all you need is 500mg of butter, a pack of biscuit premix and lots of chocolate chips! For any baking noobies beginners, I can assure that biscuit premix flour definitely makes things much more easier and you will NEVER EVER fail on your first attempt unless you're not following the steps correctly.
Sie Yii got all these from Guten Braun, a baking shop in PJ.

First, you'll need to beat the butter. We're using the conventional way to train our biceps *show biceps*

So when it's all creamy and fluffy like the photo on the left, you can now add in the premix flour.

We prepared 2 trays and a half of mini cookies paper holders.

Mix everything and knead it into a dough, then...you knows what's the fun part?

Pouring in the chocolate chips and let it rain all over the doughヽ( ^ 。^ )丿

Commercial break; Doggie cookies! Cute isn't it?

Make sure that the chocolate chips are mixed evenly.
Then you can pick up the dough with two spoons and place the small amount of the cookie dough into these mini cups. It will take forever if you're doing it alone, so this is where your friends play their part! (;

No work, no cookies for you guys! Soon to be future good wives at work :P

Bake the cookies at 170°C for around 25-30 minutes or until it turned golden brown.

Voila! Mini chocolate chips cookies are done and these bite-sized treats are super addictive!
The next afternoon, we decided to cook spaghetti instead cause it's less time consuming and easiest food to cook!
The ingredients and we actually bought few pieces of chicken breasts and minced it instead of buying the ready made minced chicken. Look how we poked the spaghetti through those sausages! (Saw in on the internet before :P)

Then it turned out like this!! Cool, no? ( ^ ω ^ )/

Our potwok of gold filled with thick Bolognese paste (Y)
I guess the pasta was real delish cause everyone finished their pasta till the last strand and had the plate licked clean YUMMMMS
After having our tummy filled, we had our calories burned as well with the intense WII session that got everyone's muscle sore so bad for the next few days LOL
Last but not least, a group photo of the attendees :D
Blessed Sunday everyone!

V-day 2012 ❤

Happy Tuesday! So here I am, blogging about V-day a week after #likeaboss simple because the boyf asked me to. I guess he missed being featured in my blog :P

Everyday is Valentine’s Day if there is love in your hearts. Otherwise today is just another day in the Calendar. — Anonymous
True much.. I think that Valentine's Day is too overrated these days, it's all about the big bouquet of roses, expensive dinners and gifts. Be it Valentine's Day or not, I'll still love my boyf the same (: No point of showering him with extra love and care only on that day. I would rather save up for our anniversary instead, speaking of anniversary...I'm really looking forward to it *ehem hint ehem* So, it's our 2nd year celebrating V-day together but there was nothing extraordinary compared to last year since boyf is having his finals last week so it was just a simple one (: I thought it was a mutual decision that we won't be buying each other gift or even make a card but who knows boyf still made an effort even though he was really busy preparing for his finals . He is such a sweetheart ♡(´ε` )
A handmade card from him and chocs from Famous Amos.
A pop up card!! :D His kid-like drawings amuses me and the first thing I ask was why am I so thin :P

Chocs, heart shaped lolly and a teddy bear that comes with it. He actually thought that the giraffe was a cow! -_-

I actually received this two days from the actual V-day (: Since V-day is all about sharing some love, I shared these chocs with Joeann and Cathy as well HEH
And on the day itself, I received this <3 It may not be a bouquet of flowers but I still appreciate it. It's the heart that counts (':

You know how he always says he will have my back, well he certainly has (っˆヮˆ)っ
I love us, the crazy witty us.
Felt bad that I didn't do a single thing for him, so I made him a hot choc with a spoonful of love using the cup he gave me when the clock strikes 12 on V-day since he was still awake revising for his next paper the following morning. Better than nothing, right? :P but I'll make that up for our anniversary, promise (: Again, thanks for everything!

So how was your Valentine's Day?

The most anticipated fashion piece to become the show stopper, is a couture dress made entirely of sugar by Malaysian bakery Just Heavenly. 1.       The PETRONAS Twin Towers Standing at a height of 452 metres above ground, the PETRONAS Twin Towers are the tallest twin towers in the world. The towers, which were completed in 1996, are situated in the Kuala Lumpur City Centre on the northern boundary of the Multimedia Super Corridor. Equipped with the state-of-the-art communication facilities, the Twin Towers are a national landmark and a symbol of Malaysia’s socio economic progress and achievements.  The floor-plate of the Tower is designed based on geometric patterns common in architecture of Islamic heritage. It is composed of two rotated and superimposed squares with small circular infills. These geometric figures have been described by architects as symbolizing unity, harmony, stability and rationality - all important principles of Islam.  Like the exterior design, the Towers' entrance design was also inspired by the country's cultural heritage, incorporating contemporary Malaysian motifs adapted from traditional handicrafts such as songket and timber carvings. The overall character of the building is high-tech and international but distinctively Malaysian.

United Buddy Bears @ Pavilion KL

Taking a break from food posts, so I decided to blog about these super outdated United Buddy Bears! I guess I'm like the last person to blog about this, IKR. So yeah back to the bears, a total of 147 colourful and inspiring bear statues were on exhibition at the entrance of Pavilion KL from 8th Dec 2011 till 15th Feb 2012.   I was not aware about this exhibition until I saw people sharing photos of these bears on FB few months back, since then I tell myself I should pay these bears a visit no matter what cause you never know when will you have the chance to see these bears. Out of so many countries, we sure are lucky to have them in Malaysia!

Check out their official webpage for more info!

Buddy Bears are a series of painted, life-size fibreglass bear sculptures originally developed in Berlin, Germany. The first Buddy Bear was created by the German businesspeople Klaus and Eva Herlitz, in cooperation with the sculptor Roman Strobl in 2001. The United Buddy Bears are primarily about their message - a message of peace, international understanding and tolerance among the nations, cultures and religions of this world — Wikipedia
Why, hello there bears! :D
So I managed to take a few glimpses of them when ze family came over to KL last Dec. Since it was at night, I didn't take much photos.
