Introducing Spanish fashion house CHULA: a featured interview by Style TV

Jessica Minh Anh at CHULA's showroom in Hanoi
Spanish fashion house CHULA was a part of J Model Management's latest phenomena on PETRONAS Twin Towers' Skybridge in Kuala Lumpur in March and the Seine in Paris in July this year. The label, which was created by designer and architect Diego Cortizas, amazed the fashion world when it turned each and every dress into a unique piece of art using bold colours, striking patterns, personalised touches, and famous embroidered quotes which added the humorous elements in the collections. CHULA has definitely gone beyond the usual catwalk trend to create a youthful brand that is widely available and appealing to fashion lovers from different backgrounds.

August in Recap

Oh, hello! (*^▽^)/ I was supposed to update my blog these few days but my internet connection was too crappy that it can't even load the Blogger's photo uploader -__- Hence, more pending posts added to the list. Oh well, back to the main topic. It's Friday again, the last day of August. Malaysia Independence Day to be exact! *cues Tanggal 31 in the background*

Happy birthday, Malaysia! #Merdeka55

So how did you guys spend your Merdeka day? Or was it just another public holiday to you? (: The unpatriotic me did nothing much but only catching up with my current read. Not sure what got into me, but I just grabbed it this morning and kept reading since then. I was hook from the start and the next thing I knew - it was UNPUTDOWNABLE. No choice but to put it aside for a while to update my blog. I'm now only 103 pages away from the last page of the novel, pretty sure I can finish it by tomorrow (´∀`)

August has been pretty great to me,I have to admit that it actually gets better as every month goes by. I'm definitely anticipating for September already cause y'know it's MY month like, the month where I get another year older *hint 1000x* Get it get it? :P

Since I haven't got the chance to blog everything, be it significant or insignificant that happened this month, I'll just sum it out first excluding those I've blogged about, and oh they are not in random order cause I'm that bad in remembering dates.

#1. Work as a promoter for the first time! :D
The almost complete group photo :D
My partners at work; Carmen and Sharen who are both so fun to work with! (:

Nuline Products Sdn Bhd; the company which I was working for was featured last Tuesday in TheStar.Online, HERE

#2. Planted a pot of sunflowers
Finally planted it after buying this flower pot last month. Coming back to hostel one weekend to find them sprouting out unexpectedly. They were quite healthy until I separated them into two individual pots T__T Hopefully these sunshine will be back up and grow well soon.
#3. Collected my Cres Wellness Blogging Contest's prize after much delay ヽ(´▽`)ノ
My goodie bag and cash voucher that entitled me 3 treatment sessions with Cres Wellness.

Yes, I was one of the second prize winners :D click HERE to read my winning contest entry *promoting shamelessly*
#4. Attended SCKLM Volunteer party as well.
Not really the party that you guys might have thought it was, it's more like an appreciation dinner. I already drafted a blogpost filled with photos that I took that night but I haven't had the time to post it yet LOL #failblogger #facepalm

#5. Helped out for Jordan school event in collaboration with Mahsa at  SMK Zon R1 Wangsa Maju as well.
Seeing those kids reminded me of my high school days (':

#6. Headed down south for a food trip during my Raya break!
To Muar it is, my first time in Johor actually! I won't be revealing much photos as I'm saving them for the upcoming blogposts mainly about this trip HEHE

It's sort of our first road trip together, with my bunch after 2 years studying together (:

Do you feel the vibe of the movie "那些年" in this photo?

#7. Painted my fingernails in NEON ORANGE muehehehe
After the pastel coloured nails I had earlier in August, I'm now lovin' neon ;D
Well, my neon orange nails had got me quite a number of attention HEH They all commented the same; what a striking colour. That's the point!
I was actually inspired by this photo I stumbled upon in Tumblr. Similar enough? :P
#8. Last but not least, DRUM TAO last Friday! I can't help but I just had to mention it again. You can just check out my this link to view the photos (*≧▽≦)

I guess that's all about my eventful August, there are a few food and fashion posts in between as well but I guess I'll just blog about them soon. Pinky promise (; Note to self; Make sure this blogging mojo stay put before it goes MIA again. Oh before I forgot, I'll share with you my fave song of the month!

My Drum Tao 2012 Experience

Besides my trip to Muar, being able to catch Drum Tao LIVE in Msia was one of the highlights of my Raya break. Remember the post that I blogged about Drum Tao earlier in July, no? Well, this is it! Due to my trip to Muar, I couldn't make it to the press conference and fan meet and greet session on Wednesday and Tuesday respectively but I was really glad that I get to watch their first out of three shows on Friday night :D

What's even better? I've got a pair of complimentary ticket worth RM308 each! My seat was at the fourth row from the stage ╮(╯▽╰)╭
And of course I brought the boyf along (:
We grabbed our dinner after collecting our tickets and chill in front of the fountain with Subway cookies (:
Too bad the White Choc Macadamia cookies are sold out that day T_T

Choc chips cookie to satisfy boyf's sweet tooth craving!

Turquoise Triple Feather Earrings that Belinda got me from Dorothy Perkins UK
A must-selca-shot of us everytime we're on a date (ʃƪ´⌣`)
And oh, we coincidentally wore the same shade of blue that night without even planning beforehand. Chemistry huh? :P In fact, we never plan what we're going to wear.

No sign of fountain, Y U NO switch on? ლ(ಠ益ಠლ)
#OOTD
Blue electric dress - Sg. Wang
Yellow Belt - Sg. Wang
Flats - Vincci
Thanks Carmen for this shot (:

Drums on the stage.

So hey, this is Carmen whom I met while I was working at the recent International Baby Expo (: We collected our tickets at the same time earlier so we were just seated next to each other.

Met Li Chuen too! It's been a while (: I met quite a number of familiar faces that night but didn't have the chance to take a photo together.

Another pic of us in the hall muehehehehe
This is how the plenary hall looks like that night, slowly being filled by the audiences. I was pretty surprised by the amount of audiences who turned out that night.
Before the show started, we were reminded to keep our phone on silent. Plus, we were warned that cameras and video cams are strictly prohibited for copyright purposes but then I still managed to secretly snap a few photos throughout the show *guilty*
After a month of anticipation, the show finally begun!

The very powerful and energetic opening act that blown us away from the very beginning~

She was smiling cheerfully while playing her drum; you've no idea how strong she is!
Most of the guys had long hair :P
Each Wadaiko Drum used in the performance weighs a massive 400kg!
At first, I was thinking too myself how can they entertain us with just drums for a two hours show? It turned out that they have a few different performances in line for us. Besides their skillful drumming, they performed martial arts as well as flawless choreographed dance.
These two cute japanese guys can be comedians as well besides playing music instruments :P They were interacting with the members of the floors and asked us to clap along with the beat.
One of their performances that features trumpets and smaller drums.
After the 15 mins break, there was one part where they entered the back door and ran towards the stage! They were just standing literally few meters away from our seats! So close yet so far *swoon*
He was just in front of me! :OOOO
One of them even passed by me and gave me a peace sign when I tried to take a photo of him, but that shot turned out blur T__T
The performers then continue to mesmerize us by creating complex rhythms on smaller drums, complemented by the delicacy of bamboo flutes and a horizontal harp. They even have one that looks like a banjo, I have no idea what is it called and many other traditional musical instruments as well.
Finally bidding farewell after their last performance )':
Overall, Drum Tao was totally AWESOME! In fact, I can't even find a better word to describe it. I went all awwww and whoaaa throughout the two hours, hoping that it doesn't end so early. It was just spectacular and stunning. You can see that their performers were indeed multi-talented and well trained for the show. You can easily spot their prominent shoulder and back muscles, even the ladies were strong enough to play the gigantic drums *super impressed* I guess if you're the type that enjoy live music performance, or traditional music to be exact, you'll definitely enjoy Drum Tao. I thought it would be real loud like blasting loud, I even got myself ready and covered my ears but it turned out okay, the volume is still acceptable HAHA I shall seal this experience as one of the epic memories in 2012 ヽ(*≧ω≦)ノ Thanks Drum Tao for such an unforgettable night. Hopefully they will come back to Malaysia again in the near future!
