World's first sundeck catwalk: J Winter Fashion Show on Costa Atlantica

Famously known for turning England’s iconic London Tower Bridge and the world’s highest PETRONAS Twin Towers’ Skybridge into a phenomenal catwalk, J Model Management made history again on 17 January 2013 with the first ever fashion show on the sundeck of an international cruise ship. The highly anticipated J Winter Fashion Show, which took place on the luxurious Costa Atlantica, showcased an exquisite combination of haute couture, bridal, swimwear, and high end ready wear collections from the UAE, Portugal, Lebanon, Russia, Italy, Hong Kong, Greece, and Vietnam. With the grand catwalk staged on the 70 metre sundeck overlooking Dubai’s skyline, the event redefined modern fashion show standards.
Opening the show in a breath-taking Oscar De La Renta long trail wedding dress, Jessica Minh Anh appeared as a stunning representative of the multi-talented new generation who makes their fairy tale a reality. She was followed by other fashion models in elegant and romantic designs from world’ famous brand Marchesa, Hong Kong power house Lusan Mandongus, Greek talent Christos, and Lebanese celebrity designer Aiisha Ramadan, which can be found at high end Frost Boutique.
In contrary with the angelic looks of modern brides, the second collection by Russian award winning designer Polina Raudson, conveyed strong emotion and harmony with all-black retro dresses. Using an unusual combination of natural fabrics such as silk, chiffon, cotton, and denim, and materials such as plastic, glass, and metal, Polina’s collection strengthened the concept of future and space.
Perfectly suited for the lengthy sundeck, the next collection from global swimwear leader Gottex made a bold fashion statement by incorporating colours, shapes, prints and details into two opposing extremes. The daring side presented strong colours such as cadmium reds, royal blue, torques, purples, and canary yellow, while the more feminine side used softer hues and prints, twisted and drapery shapes, Swarovski stones, and graphite jewels woven through fine lycra. The swimsuits were accompanied by colourful, crystal studded, and ultra-light anti-flat flip-flops from UAE’s very own footwear brand FLOPEDS, which married fashion and comfort together.
Adding sophistication to the grand catwalk, the next collection was a dreamy bridal series from Portuguese famous designers Joana Montez and Patrícia de Melo. Using light fabrics such as tulle, muslin and silk organza in the form of overlays, transparencies and frills, the 15 dresses moved away from traditional styles to show more distinguished cuts.
Showcasing the unique taste of a modern Middle East, Slouchy’Z transformed traditional abayas into stylish loose-fitting pieces with a special mixture of color, flow of textile and delicacy of cuts on the grand catwalk.
Closing the show with elegance and class, Vietnamese celebrity designer Hoang Hai brought couture to the next level with richly embellished floor-length pieces. The finale ivory lace dress worn by Jessica, which was a design masterpiece, used gemstones, layered lace, and delicate floral elements to accentuate timeless beauty.
The show was followed by a VIP Networking Party at the famous café Florian on board, where fine Italian drinks and canapés were served. Exclusive guests, such as countries’ ambassadors, luxury brand managers, retail group directors, and famous international designers, experienced world class hospitality from J Model Management and Costa Cruises.
The show was covered by CNN, CNBC, Forbes Middle East, The National, Dubai TV, Sama TV, Rotana TV, Abu Dhabi TV, Fashion One TV, and OK! Middle East among many others. Official partners included Costa Cruises, Sephora Middle East, Damas Jewellery, Al Qudra Sports Management, Fonoon, Pastels Salon, Dusit Thani Dubai, Marine Biz TV, Cocoona, Asiatic Printing Press, Cosmopolitan Hotel, OK! Middle East, Eve Arabia, and M Print House. Talking about the collaboration, Dr. Sanjay Parashar, Founder of Cocoona said: “Cosmetic surgery and beauty are inextricably bound; they are family. And when you have an event that tributes beauty, promises to go above and beyond the boundaries of fashion and aims to blend extraordinary beauty and sophisticated art, you know you have a groundbreaking experience. This is why we are so unbelievably privileged to be a partner of the J Winter Fashion Show - it promises to make beauty history”.
With this addition to their excellent track record of continuous history making showcases, J Model Management has become the most desirable fashion show organiser worldwide. The company is set to expand their seasonal catwalks this year to other major cities including Barcelona, Rio de Janeiro, Istanbul, and New York.

We Love Asia Festival 2013

Last week was the most eventful week so far in 2013 with the 27th Golden Disk Awards, SHM concert and I guess most of you know that We Love Asia (WLA) Festival was happening at Sepang International Circuit last weekend where most of the party animals were at! Despite being sick (like real sick) last Friday, I still managed to join in the fun the next day and partied two days in a row. That is definitely a new record for me, achievement unlocked baby!  ヽ(´ー`)ノ Gotta cut the chase; enjoy this quite heavy loaded post!
Got a pair of free passes to two days access of #WLA, courtesy of Manoah.
- Day 1 -
Are you ready to rave, party people? #leggo

There's this booth with a variety of cool and interesting games to win prizes as well :D

Yolanda Be Cool was the first act to kickstart that night around 9-ish. The crowd seems to be fascinated and greatly entertained by the duo.

Next up was DJ Antoine who welcomed us to St. Tropez. Surpisingly, he was pretty good and he totally rocked  the house that night.

♪ ♫ Wild, Wild enough,
Too much money in the bank account
Hands in the air make you scream and shout
When we're in St-Tropez ♪♫

Hello guys, meet Senri *smiles sheepishly
Fave pic of the night
〜( ̄▽ ̄〜) (〜 ̄▽ ̄)〜〜( ̄▽ ̄〜) (〜 ̄▽ ̄)〜
Senri x Hilda
Some random dudes I don't know; don't you just love the swirls and the lights effect? (;
We *shows heart sign* Asiaaaaa!!
Few hours before the rave party, I just realised that one of my contact lens was ripped, so I had to party with my glasses on. But on the bright side, I get to see everything on stage more clearly HEH
Single or Double Senri? Hehehehe :3
Then of course, after much anticipation, it was the guy that need no further introduction, Taio Cruz! Yet he keeps going, "My name is Taio Cruz" as if we don't know LOL

And people started to squeeze in and fill the whole place when it was his time to perform.  The crowd erupted, got all HIGH and sang along to his songs and well, that includes me :P
Songs that he performed that night was Hangover (twice!!), Dynamite, Higher, Break Your Heart, Troublemaker, Little Bad Girl as well as the song he wrote for David Guetta and Chris Brown's Without You. I was expecting him to sing Fast Cars though ):

Last act of the night, DJ Ferry Corsten. By the time he performed, I was pretty knackered, hungry and almost died of thirst. Zero energy left to party anymore.

But the crowd can't get enough of him!

There's even fireworks! Woohooo (ノ≧∀≦)ノ

And that marks the end of amazing Day 1.

- Day 2 -
Since it was raining heavily prior to the party, I was literally shivering that I had to put on another t-shirt to keep myself warm.
The rain doesn't stop them from partying yo!
Make some noise cause Rojak Bois are in the house!
Joachim Garraud; it was my first time seeing him perform, boy I was blown away completely! His music was wicked and euphoric. He was interacting with the audiences all the time as well, giving away his space invaders masks here and there. He even requested from the crew to bring a lady from the front row up to the stage and gave her a t-shirt!

The graphics on the screen were different and cooler, compared to the other  DJs.
That's him with his keytar if you squint your eyes look closely at the center of the stage.
Eh eh eh eh eh, ah ah ah ah
♪♫
Just when my patience was wearing thin, finally the much anticipated REDFOO(!!!!!!) and his party rock crews are out on stage OMAIGAWD Just so you know, I was wearing my orange leopard print top that night just to match his animal print theme ♡❤♡❤
Redfoo and his party rock hand sign :* Not forgetting the way he said #yeahhhhbaby *melts*
The crowd all went cray and man, it was so packed that I literally have no space to even move an inch!
Few of the songs he sang that night; I'm in Miami Bitch, Sorry for Party Rocking, Party Rock Anthem, Shots, Reminds Me of You as well as his new single, Bring Out Your Bottles.

&&&&& THE MOST EPIC HIGHLIGHT OF THE NIGHT; I'M SEXY AND I KNOW IT!

YOU KNOW WHY?

CAUSE THEY FREAKING STRIPPED THEMSELVES AT THE CHORUS AND DANCED IN THEIR SHINY UNDIES ROFLOLOLOL I wonder if they will be banned from Msia after this.

Last one I promise HAHAHAHA X)

All I could say was just incredible and phenomenal!

Look, glitters raining on us! Sadly that marks the end of my awesome possum Day 2.
Right after Redfoo finished performing, I had to leave the party with Senri cause it was pretty late already. So I didn't manage to catch Steve Aoki's live performance and I heard it was even better, slightly bummed but it's okay. There's always next time, I'm sure! :D But still, I had a blast over the weekend with a great bunch of companion. Booze is optional but not who you party with! Definitely a great way to kick start my 2013, we are still in January, mind you (; Kudos to WLA for bringing all these ahmazing acts for the this two days back to back festival, thank you soooooo much!

xx

P/S: So what are you up to this coming weekend?
