Italiannies @ Empire Shopping Gallery

It's September already, I guess it's too late to wish my readers Selamat Merdeka Raya. Anyways, on the first day of Raya itself, I went to Empire with my sister and her other half. Suprisingly, most of the restaurants are closed due to the Merdeka Raya holidays. Even Whisk is closed, so we missed the chance to try out their red velvet cake T_T

So we decided to have lunch at Italiannies. The one and only time I had Italiannies was during my birthday last year and to be frank, it wasn't as good as I thought but this time it totally changed my mind.

Dark wooden furnitures with sepia-toned photographs of families on the wall which all add up to Italiannies homey ambience (:

First main course would be SPAGHETTI & MEATBALLS; Their huge, homemade seasoned beef meatballs, served with marinara sauce. It'd definitely taste better when it's served hot. The sauce was not sufficient for the amount of spaghetti, making it dry and indelectable. 

Now that's really one fathuge ass meatball :O 

It's really flavourful and tender, thumbs up for this! 

Second main course is the SMOKED SALMON PIZZA; Pizza topped with smoked salmon slices, gorgonzola dill cream sauce, cream cheese and sliced onions. This is definitely the bomb, especially for salmon lovers like me! :D The thickness of the crust was just nice. Generous amount of salmon and the pizza was still cripsy when it was served. 

Next up, CLASSIC CARBONARA; Fettuccine pasta tossed in parmesan cream sauce with smoked beef bacon and fresh button mushrooms. I always have this thing with carbonara so I'd usually go around different restaurants trying out their carbonara and this carbonara, my friends, totally blew me away. Creamy and cheesy enough to my liking, not forgetting the truckloads of beef bacon (something to die for)! 

3 main courses yet it's fulfilling and satisfying to feed five mouths (: Not forgetting the bottomless drinks as well. Their service was good but I believe there is still room of improvement for their food. At Italiannies, their food is designed for sharing, so it is recommendable to dine there with a large group of people, “A’more di Merrier”!
