Coffee Stain by Joseph @ Publika

I guess everyone would have known about this famous Coffee Stain by Joseph by now or at least heard about it cause it's seems like it is everyone's favourite coffee joint nowadays. And so I decided to hop on the bandwagon too #typicalmalaysian

Just the weekend before my birthday, my sister brought me out for an early birthday treat. I chose Publika instead then settled with Coffee Stain by Joseph for brunch first. Since it was still early on a Sunday morning, the place was pretty quiet which is a  plus point cause I'll get to take photos around the cafe without getting any stares :P I'm not usually a morning person but when I do, it's probably for breakfast. Nothing beats kicking start your day with a good breakfast. Agree?

Breakfast is served!

Morning Stain - RM18.90
A rather weird combination but I love it; all of my fave food. Turkey bacon, fluffy scrambled eggs and two pieces of scones served with jam and clotted cream. Don't be deceived by the portion, it was fulfilling.

Their scones doesn't disappoint at all, with a hint of marmalade and raisins. The texture was just nice, crumbly and soft. Most importantly, they were served warm. That's good enough for me (:

My sister's croissant served with salad. (which I can't find it in the menu) It should be under the sandwich menu.

Tea Latte - RM7.50
I truly appreciate cafe that serves tea latte, which will definitely be my choice of drink without any second thought. Perfect for non-coffee drinkers who feels like having something creamy than the usual tea or chocolate drink. The tea latte was creamy with the right amount of sweetness to my liking.

Cafe Latte - RM8.50 served with a pretty Rosetta latte art.

Besides good coffee and scrumptious all-day-breakfast, Coffee Stain by Joseph do have another menu for dinner as well.

Assorted coffee beans; to be honest I've never seen so many types of coffee beans before.

Dessert might not be their forte but they do have macarons and cakes to satisfy the sweet tooth.

Oh they have this new drink where they serve coffee cubes with skim milk, heard that it was not bad too!
Located at the same row with Coffee Société, it's pretty easy to find this place.

The place started to swarm when we left. It could be quite noisy when it's packed especially during the weekends or on public holidays. However, it's definitely an ideal place to enjoy good coffee, highly recommended! Oh and they do have another branch at Parkmaya, Fahrenheit 88.

Coffee Société @ Publika

After Kash's engagement ceremony, we decided to find a place to chill since we don't feel like heading back to hostel yet. So I suggested Publika, cause it's been a year since my last visit and I've been seeing lots of reviews about the cafes there. It seems like cafes that serve coffee with coffee art is like the new in thing right now, previously was burger joints opening everywhere lol well if you know me, you should know I'm not a coffee person (cause I can't stand the bitterness of coffee and I hate when my pee stinks oops that's too much of information HAHA) but for the sake of coffee art, I wouldn't mind ordering a cup of coffee HAHA IKR (please don't judge me lol) Unless they have green tea latte or tea latte with art on it, that would definitely be my first choice. But honestly I always have this thing for quaint coffee cafe and the fragrant aroma of coffee beans when you enter a cafe is just ahhh, irresistible.

The place was packed when we got there, probably cause it was a public holiday as well so we have no choice but to settle at this long counter table that was facing the road. Good thing they have this huge colourful umbrella to shade us.

Iced blended Cappucino  - RM11.00
I feel that it would be better if they serve the coffee in a glass instead of a plastic cup.
Hazelnut Hot Chocolate - RM12.00The smell and taste of the hazelnut was pretty strong but it was too sweet for Joeann's liking.

Iced Hazelnut Latte - RM11.00

Piccolo Latte - RM6.90
I couldn't decide what coffee to order so I scrolled through the tips that people posted on Foursquare to see if there is any good recommendation. I ended up with this small cup of Piccolo Latte that comes with a pretty coffee art and floral printed saucer. Took almost 10 minutes to get a few shots of it before taking my first sip #asianatwork It was indeed the perfect cup of coffee for beginners. I would rate this latte in the mild bitter category and it was still good to my liking. I didn't add any sugar it in though.
And how can we not have a group shot :P

Group shot #2

An attempt of artsy coffee shot, #macamyes not? HEH

Oh, just so you know, they have FREE FLOW of coffee after 6pm till late on Friday and Saturday for RM10 nett! So, if you would love to have a chilling night over cups of coffee with your friends, feel free to try them out. It's totally worth it, I would say for those who are hardcore coffee drinkers.

Stools with road signs on it, how cool 8D
It's definitely a good place for coffee and gathering with friends who equally enjoy coffee, though it maybe quite noisy if you were to sit indoors. They do serve tea and other beverages too. I'll see myself visiting them again to try out their breakfast menu!

So are you one of those coffee lovers that go around hunting for cafe like this too? I actually have a list of cafes that I will love to try out but do share with me which is your favourite (:

Acme Bar & Coffee @ The Troika

Acme Bar & Coffee — not exactly the new place in town but I only managed to drop by there last Monday week. I've heard tons of reviews about this cafe; both good and bad. The place is rather posh and I love love love its interior. Do expect more photos of the place instead of the food we had that day, we only had dessert actually. So should I still label this as a food post? :P and I just realised my last food post was like what.. a month ago? #notsoeffectiveblogger

We actually had our brunch earlier at Pasar Seni and I suggested this place for dessert cause there's always room for dessert! Right? :3

Cappucino (RM13) for Sie Yii and Joeann while me and JieYi had a Twinning's Earl Grey (RM11).

Brown and white sugar cubes.

Just an ordinary coffee art, nothing fancy. It was served with a piece of biscotti too.

So...this is the Sizzling Brownie & Oreo ice-cream (RM19) that people has been raving about!
The brownie was served in hot place and the waiter then poured in the chocolate sauce.
Look at the smoke and you know it's sizzlin' hotttt ~

Super sinful indeed! But there's one thing, not sure if the hot plate was overheated or that was how it is, there was a burnt taste, meh.
I love the texture of the brownies, definitely one of the best you can find in KL but still not as good as the one we tried in Burps and Giggles. The warm brownie and the Oreo ice-cream is a totally the perfect combo and I love the bits and pieces of Oreo biscuits in the icecream.

The Light-As-Air Pavlova (RM15) served with generous amount of freshly chopped strawberries and passion fruit sauce. True to its name, it's light, fluffy and crunchy at the same time, probably a tad too sweet to my liking. The passion fruit sauce made it a little different by adding a slight sourish taste to the sweet dessert. Overall, it's still a good dessert.

The brownie gang of the day and half of my face! :D
And how can I miss an #OOTD short?
Crop top is definitely my fashion staple for now, and it's definitely on trend right now. Plus, it's a good motivation for you to strive for flat abs and you wouldn't eat that much in public too, cause you won't wanna have your bloated tummy to be seen right? HAHA make some sense huh?

&& apparently Krystal from F(x) was wearing the same floral printed crop top in their latest video here. The video wasn't even out yet when I bought the top :P
Sorry for side tracking. Let's get back to the food post HEH
Another classy section of their dining area.

Look at their selection of cakes! And these are not ordinary flavoured cakes, just so you know.

Their all-time-famous Cempedak cake!
We didn't dare to try it though, cause we had a feeling that we won't like it after a heavy brunch.

Assorted meringue in glass jars.

You must really pay their restroom a visit, you'll know why I said so.

Their front desk.

All in all, I would definitely recommend this place if you're planning to have tea or coffee with your friends, or even a lunch or dinner with friends or family. Oh, they have al-fresco dining too but it's probably not a good idea to dine outside during lunch due to the sunny weather of Malaysia. They may not serve the best coffee but it's the ambiance and dessert that are worth considering. I'll definitely be back to try their main course and breakfast (:

It's located near GTower and KLCC which means it's accessible by means of public transport. The nearest LRT would be Ampang Park which is around 10 mins walk away. Fret not, they have basement parking too for those who drives with reasonable parking fee too.
