Restoran Smiley's Bistro

On Mother's Day, I joined my sister and her bf (Stephen's) family for lunch at a Smiley's Bistro ☺☺☺ His dad recommended this restaurant cause he saw it on TV and decided to give it a try. This restaurant was reviewed by Phillip Lim from NST here as well.

Smiley's is not any typical restaurant you can find in Klang cause it serves South Indian, North Indian, Malaysian, Western Dishes and tomyam in addition. The house speciality would be their 50 variety of dosas (especially during the dosa festival) and nasi briyani.

Sick of mamak, chinese food, fast food or prolly a first timer for Indian food? Maybe you should consider giving Smiley's Bistro a try! :D I've yet to try banana leaf rice, maybe next time.

#1. The menu

#2. We opted for the 1st promotion lunch set where you order a set of prawn briyani @ RM13.90, the second order of ANY briyani would cost only @ RM5.50

#3. So just relax and smile while waiting ☺☺☺

#4. Or maybe smile to the camera and camwhore :P

#5. The place was really clean and it's air conditioned too.
#6. Meet Stephen :D
#7. My mango smoothie that tasted weird @ RM4.90
#8. Watermelon juice with milk - RM3.90
#9. Mutton Briyani (Normal Price: RM10.90)
#10. Served with Dalcha gravy and Onion Raita (sourish cucumber & onion salad; I kinda like it)
#11. Curry mutton; the meat is tender (Y)
#12. Not to forget the nasi briyani and omelette with chopped onion
#13. Oh, and the not so crispy papadom *disappointed*
#14. Prawns Briyani @ RM13.90
#15. Generous amount of fresh curry prawns (Y)
#16. Chicken Briyani (Normal Price: RM9.90)
#17. With the chicken drumstick buried beneath the rice
#18. First time eating rice on huge banana leaf *jakun*
#19. Look! They have smiley taxi stand ☺☺☺
#20. If only I can read Tamil :P

The total bill was RM80 for 7 pax, quite reasonable I reckon. The overall meal was alright but not that fulfilling cause the portion was quite small.

Together, we can be alright.

I don’t mind when our conversations get a little boring. I don’t mind when we run out of things to say when we’re texting. When we’re not doing anything while we're hanging out together, well I don’t mind that either. It doesn’t matter to me because I finally realized that when you’re truly in love, every moment spent together doesn’t have to be breath-taking, that you’ll still feel like the luckiest person alive even through the most unexciting times, and you will feel completely comfortable together because you know that just having each other is more than enough.

It all started with a little crush on a stranger that turns into something more and after 426 days, we are still happily holding on together. It has been fourteen months and we're at somewhere only we know, probably somewhere in between of the honeymoon and comfortable stage or maybe in the midst of tolerance stage sometimes. Definitely, we would have tough time (most of the time actually). It’s not that we don’t want it to happen, it just does. All we can ever do is fight for what we have. It’s the effort that counts. Don’t let is slip away this easy because you never know that what you have right now may be the best you’ll ever see (;

Just bear in mind to not take each other for granted, that's for sure.

#1. He calls me fat, but he's fatter.

To me, he's a sweetheart when he doesn't even have to try.

Happy Mummy's Day

Dear Mami,

I may have always disagree and do things that are definitely out of your will, said many things that might have hurt you a lot, but believe me,  I could never ask for any mother other than you, you're definitely the best superwoman I will ever have and I really love you so much ♥♥  Thanks for everything, I wouldn't be who I am today without you. I miss you (':

Everyday can be Mother's Day but today is the day specially for them, so appreciate and show them so love  and care while they are still around before it's too late. Practise by saying I love you and Thank You everyday, hug them all the time and gossiptalk to them more. I'm lucky to come from a family where we are close to each and every one of our family members. Family has definitely always been my priority.

So to all the awesome mothers out there, this is for you guys!

Restaurant 88 Steamboat Buffet

Finally, my elder sis and her boyf brought me to 88 Steamboat Buffet Restaurant for dinner last night as I've been nagging almost everyone non stop since a month ago to bring me there :D

We were there quite early cause this place would usually be fully packed by 6pm. We chose to sit by the corridor as the sun was still scouring hot at that time. Practically 88 steamboat buffet offers 3 in 1 buffet deal – steamboat, grill and BBQ. For steamboat, the restaurant offers tom yam soup and clear stock soup as well.

#1. The steamboat & grill set filled with Tom Yam soup

#2. A mini BBQ pit with charcoal set up at the side of our table

#3. Utensils and butter wrapped up in plastics (:

#4. The various types of marinated chicken, beef, mutton and squids to grill, satays, chicken wings (marinated with pepper & curry respectively) and skewered prawns for the barbeque pit, and an assortment of fishballs, seafood, dumplings, tofu and etc. for the steamboat.
#5. Not to forget some greens and mushrooms! Speaking of mushroom, they have at least 5 different types of it.
This restaurant disallowed customers from taking photos in their restaurant so that pretty much explains the limited photos of the buffet spread and the restaurant itself. They have a row of freezers and tables where you can find a variety of food ranging from seafood, marinated meat, mushrooms, vegetables, assorted balls for steamboats, hams, noodles, eggs and dipping sauce. They even have an aquarium for live prawns(!) but I didn't try it cause it makes me feel cruel to eat them alive T_T
#5. Now let the cooking begins! :D

#6. Thumbs up for the chicken satay and chicken wings YUMS

#7. The soup tasted fine and it's not that spicy.

#8. Sizzling black pepper beef and curry marinated chicken.

#9. Refillable soft drinks, chinese tea & fruit juices.

#10. Skewered prawns with some butter on top but then it wasn't really that fresh, meh :/

#11. Time to eat OMNOMNOMZ

#12. It wouldn't be complete w/o icecreams for dessert! They have at least 10 different flavours to choose from, I kid you not.
From this giant amount of food, it only costs RM23.80 per adult, RM18.80 per student & RM9.80 per children. Totally worth it, don't you think? Definitely worth another visit or many more to come. No photos of me cause I was busy eating and I am kind enough to not ruin your appetite with the sweaty looking me who smelled like grilled meat at the end of the meal LOL
