Behind the scene of J Spring Fashion Show promo video shoot on the world's tallest double-decker SkyBridge

Just a few month ago, ‘Jessica Minh Anh made history on England’s iconic Tower Bridge 44 metres above the river Thames’ – Drapers magazine, United Kingdom - when she became the first ever fashion show organiser to turn the famous bridge into a glamorous 62 metre long catwalk. The show was covered in the press of 15 countries and showcased the latest collections from designers in 5 continents. Today, she is here in the Asian jewel Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia planning another phenomenon, the J Spring Fashion Show 2012 on the World's Tallest Twin Towers' SkyBridge 175 metres off the ground.

Model: Jessica Minh Anh
Makeup artist: Quen Adele
Video Cameramen: Fariz Ashraf, Mohammad Izzat, Arif Samin, Mahsyar Said
Backstage Photographer: Natalya P & Azraii Zra
Assistant Photographer: Sonia S
Coodinator: Suhana Ashburn (UTP) & Kitt Othman (PETRONAS)

Stainless steel and laminated glass design were used to minimise heat gain from UV light and solar radiation, which helps maintain a very comfortable environment inside. The bridge itself, besides being a major tourist attraction, is used to facilitate movements between the two towers. Architect Cesar Pelli  called it 'the gateway to the future'. The bridge is 5 metres wide and VIP chairs will be allocated along the sides, leaving 2 metres in the middle for the runway. This is definitely a long runway, 58 metres to be exact. The high speed elevator system at 6 metres per second will bring the exclusive VIPs to level 42 to enjoy the show and the after party on the 19th March 2012.

"The difference between this show and our previous show on the London’s Tower Bridge is a new line up of top designers with unique collections, the styling concept, choreography, and music. This show reflects a wider vision in a more sophisticated setup" said Jessica.

It's exactly 49 days till the show and we are all very excited!

開心樂龍龍

CNY is just 2 days away, are you done with shopping, spring cleaning your house, baking cookies and filling red packets with moolah? This year, I only managed to go to Pavillion to have a look at its CNY decor cause I heard there was a gigantic dragon in the center court!

Here's a few shots that I managed to get :D
The entrance looks so China Town-ish, I like!

They have golden lanterns instead of red ones this year.
So this is the dragon that people has been talking about, ROARRRR!
Dragon is symbol of good fortune and sign of intense power.  In Eastern philosophy, the Dragon is said to be a deliverer of good fortune and a master of authority. — Source

Loving the combination of the golden lanterns with fake cherry blossom ♥

The dragon and its fireball ☼

A closer view of the divine beast!

新年来咯!

I'm really excited for this year's CNY cause I will be celebrating it with the paternal's side relatives in Kuching this year. It's been a while since we were there. I think I've been on CNY mood since the beginning of the year :P Here I am right now at the airport, waiting for my flight to KCH at 3.30pm. Can't wait to see my family again!!

So to those who is driving or flying back home this weekend, have a safe journey and a great reunion with your family (: Dong dong dong qiang, the mighty year of Dragon awaits!

MAKING HISTORY AGAIN: The first ever fashion phenomenon at the world's tallest Twin Towers by J Model Management

After making history with the international success of J Autumn Fashion Show on England’s iconic Tower Bridge 44 metres above the River Thames in October 2011 (reported by ITV UK), UK’s high profile fashion show organiser J Model Management is ready to take high fashion 175 metres off the ground on the 58 metre long Skybridge of the world’s tallest twin structure, the PETRONAS Twin Towers, on the 19th March 2012. The J Spring Fashion Show, which will present the most outstanding collections of top designers from 20 countries and welcome the most influential faces in various industries, is expected to be a global fashion phenomenon of the decade.

The state-of-the-art Skybridge, the world’s highest two storied-bridge, is the perfect location for a high profile international showcase that redefines the world’s fashion show standard. The whole bridge, with its futuristic mega structure and an exceptional glass-and-steel combination, will be lit up between 7 and 11pm for the first time. The exclusive VIPs, who are ambassadors of different countries, top designers, brand managers, celebrities, and the international press, will be seated along the sides of the bridge, leaving 3 metres in the middle for the long catwalk. Dutch celebrity designer Addy van den Krommenacker, whose couture collections have appeared numerous times in J Model Management’s shows, said “It’s a very clever idea to host the show on such a world-class architectural wonder, and having my dresses on Skybridge will be absolutely magical!” The show, which will be choreographed by the international movement director K.Knight renowned for his work with Beyonce, Kylie Minogue, and MTV, is set to break international boundaries and make the Asian jewel Kuala Lumpur Malaysia the new fashion destination of the world.

J Spring Fashion Show is part of a series of four high profile fashion shows organised by J Model Management in 2012 at the most extraordinary venues across the globe. British fashion leader Paul Costelloe is not that surprised with this move of J Model Management “Jessica understands the industry very well and its high expectations. I’m sure she’ll continue to amaze the world in years to come” he said.

January Blues

It's that time of every semester again where I'm required to go for clinical placement at either a government or private hospital for four weeks. This time round, I'm posted at Kuala Lumpur General Hospital (HKL). A place where most the students dread to go, including myself. Most of our seniors and some of my classmates have been there and judging by their experiences, it sounded stressful and hectic. True story.

I have to wake up as early as 4.30am to catch the Uni bus at 6am. I guess it's time to adjust my bedtime to 9pm (omg I'm back to those years when I was a schoolkid!) and I guess this blog will be abandoned for quite some time.. Working hours: 8am to 5.30pm. We are required to hand in patient's record book daily and reflective diary once a week. We'll have one hour of lab skills session every day as well. We are required to memorize the entire 3 protocol care booklets' content in case the HOD questions any of us. Like seriously? Since I'll be on cardiorespiratory posting this time, I'll be handling most of my patients in the wards more often. Let's hope all those walking in the wards helps to shed some kilos since I've got no time for gym for this one whole month :P Yet on the bright side, I'll be seeing patients with different and rare cases compared to other hospitals no doubt. Hopefully I'll be able to overcome my fear to do suctioning on at least one patient if I'm allowed to do so, you don't even wanna know what suctioning is. Oh and my lecturers will be visiting twice a week, so it wouldn't be that bad ey? (:

My biggest wish is that I will survive. I may be discouraged or criticized at times but I guess that's the way of learning and gaining knowledge. Got this quote from a site saying that; By three methods we may learn wisdom: First, by reflection, which is noblest; Second, by imitation, which is easiest; and third by experience, which is the bitterest. I'll try to be optimistic and see things in different perspective. Never give up. To fall and get back up on my own. #2012resolutions Hopefully I'll survive and standing still at the end of the posting. I am not quite sure if I'm ready physically or emotionally but hell yeah bring it on!

January's going to be a wild ride. Wish me luck!
